I am a Chinese-American artist based in Southern California. My work emerges through intimate conversations with Earth, working across mediums to weave stories of our entanglement and interconnectedness. My process is rooted in devotion, relying on principles of ritual repetition and returning to embed more deeply within ecosystems and attune to natural rhythms. As a descendant of diaspora, this practice of devotion has been a means of healing — rerooting and reweaving back into the story of Earth.
Through painting, I explore how meditative pattern-making can connect us to ancient rhythms and lead us towards more expansive somatic dimensions. My paintings synthesize forms from natural phenomena and intuitive systems to uncover universal languages that bind the singular to the infinite. As a whole, my practice is a generative and reparative response to the widespread fragmentation of the collective imagination, creating space for myself and others to reconnect with Earth and each other as a unified and interconnected body.
